News of the Week

I know it's been said before on this very same blog, "We will have more pictures soon." The server over at Blogger.com has been running into some difficulty, so i've run out of time each time I try to post them. Needless to say...well, I won't even say how nice they are. Everyone can just wait.

We have the lights up on our Christmas tree. You can see it when you drive up the road to our house. It's very inviting. Christmas is a special time of year. Let's pray for those who can't spend Christmas with loved ones: our military, some of our sick friends, those who have lost a special loved one to death. This is a hard time of year for all of them -- as hard for them as it is fun for us. It boils down to the fact that it's not just about fun, but it's about caring for one another in the same spirit as the One who came to care for us -- Jesus. This is true whether we are enjoying Christmas or hurting at Christmas, or maybe just a little lonely or sad.

We're going to TRY to make some cookies and some other little snacks and have our duplex-complex neighbors over. We'll set a date, and if you're in the area we will want you to come on over too. Most likely a week or a week-and-a-half before Christmas.

By the way, Leigh and Samuel have been getting out of the house a little. We went to the Border's kids corner on Saturday and to Church on Sunday evening. It's a lot of fun showing off your baby, even if it's not really 100% right to show off. It's hard to keep from being proud of your own baby.

Lately

Things are starting to level back out and we're all sleeping a lot more. Samuel is an extremely cute and good baby. Leigh is still in recovery, and should be healed up in about 3 or 4 weeks. Jon is trying to gear up for his papers and tests that are coming due in the next 3 weeks. Belinda loves her baby brother very much. She made up a song for him today. She had to go to church without him today, and on the way she said (sadly), "I forgot my baby brother!"

We are going to try to post some pictures soon. It takes a little more time to upload photos on dial-up, and time is something we don't have 100% control over right now. Hope to hear how some of you are doing.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Do we look thankful enough?
Leigh looks thankful too, but she's taking the picture.

We're going to try to get our picture taken together as a family soon.

1st week home

eye eye
circle circle
dark circle dark circle

Yes, as you can imagine, we have dark circles under our eyes -- even our little Belinda is worn out! It will be nice when we get to sleep a couple of hours in a row -- we sure won't take it for granted!

Little Samuel is so alert and hungry, and we're thankful that he's healthy. He is a sweet baby, and deep down we know that he's apologetic about imposing on our sleep structure because of his own needs. We'll, maybe we're kidding a little here.

Please keep us in your prayers. Newborns are demanding.
Remember to pray for Leigh, who is still healing up from the surgery as well.
