Whatamobile

Some of my friends are buying cars (Mike K., BMW)
I don't want to hide my hot-rod from the world.
Actually, the we got this car for free and it has been incredibly helpful!
Thank God for his provision. And thanks to the Jocum's for their generosity.

And, let's show our pride a little here, there's no safer (or more nostalgic) car on the road than this gigantic structure made of real metal.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Late to bed, early to rise
gives you saggy, baggy eyes...

Ah, the candle burns at both ends. Fortunately, sleep isn't commanded in the Bible as far as I can find. I wish we didn't need to sleep -- that we could stay awake all day and all night with no bad effects. Imagine the time we would get back!

Speaking of, we're getting back an hour tonight (sort of) with the end of the mythical "daylight saving's time," that wonderful early-20th-century invention.

if you see any typeographical errors, just think [sic] to yourself

2 must-reads

2 books that, i believe, explain what has to happen if we are going to reach the post-Christian (newly pagan) North America:

1. planting new churches in a postmodern age by ed stetzer.
an excellent book!

2. the emerging church by dan kimball.

please read them if you are going to minister in America.

I have to think of this often:

God is with the humble, loving, Christ-confident disciple. The proud, unkind, money-sure ones are on their own.

Nice weekend

I'm really enjoying this weekend. Getting to spend time with my family is one of the nicest things I can think of, and that's exactly what i'm doing now. Greek Syntax, Hebrew, and the others will have to wait.

A Testimony of God's Care

It was just a couple of weeks ago that I didn't know how I was going to pay for tuition. I didn't tell anyone, but we were getting way behind financially, and were coming to the end of "paying for things with money."

Well, I received a note in my mailbox. After reading it about 6 times, i realized the note was stating that someone had anonymously donated a Very Large Sum to my education -- my tuition for a year! Praise God for using His kind people to meet needs. That's our job as believers, to look out for one another.

I pray that I can be a blessing to those around me, even though I don't have $$$$$ to give away. We all have something to give...
